🤯 Meta is Adding Real-Time AI Image Generation to WhatsApp

For US WhatsApp users, Meta is releasing real-time AI image production in beta. When you begin entering a text-to-image prompt in a Meta AI discussion, you will see that the image changes as you continue to add details about the type of content you want to create.

• According to Meta, its Llama 3 model is now capable of generating images that are “sharper and higher quality” and has improved text display.

• Along with availability on WhatsApp, real-time image generation is also available to US users through Meta AI for the web.

• The new function of Meta AI Assistant is part of a larger rollout of AI capabilities across all of Meta's apps, which also includes Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

Meta recently introduced an upgraded version of Meta AI, powered by the company’s new advanced LLM, Meta Llama 3. It has been integrated into WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger and Meta claims that it outperforms competing open-source models on key benchmarks.

🧑‍🎤 VASA-1: Microsoft’s Image-to-Video AI Is Unbelievably Fantastic

Microsoft researchers released VASA-1 framework for generating lifelike talking faces of virtual characters with appealing visual affective skills (VAS), given a single static image and a speech audio clip. This technology takes a promising step towards enriching digital communication, transforming education methods with interactive AI tutoring, and providing therapeutic support and social interaction in healthcare.

• Microsoft’s new framework VASA-1 can generate hyper-realistic videos through just a single photo and speech audio.

• The results showed improved lip movement along with various facial representations.

🔧 Now You Can Easily Fine-Tune LLMs With PyTorch’s Torchtune

PyTorch announced the alpha release of a new native library called Torchtune, a tool to make the process of fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) more efficient. Based on the fundamental ideas of PyTorch, the library provides modular building pieces and adjustable training recipes for optimizing well-known LLMs on a range of GPUs.

• Comes with several features such as easy democratized fine-tuning and easy extensibility.

🥁 Amazon Music’s Maestro Can Create Playlists For You Using AI

Maestro is an AI-powered playlist generator for Amazon Music that helps users create any playlist according to the text prompts provided by them. Users can enter the text prompts, like their current mood, the activity they are going to do, or anything specific they like. The prompts can even have emojis.

Insights for you:

• Amazon Music launches Maestro, an AI-powered playlist generator. Users can prompt the tool with their idea and it will create a playlist of songs according to that idea.

• AQmazon Maestro is rolling out in beta to a small number of customers on all tiers, whether it’s free, prime, or unlimited, of Amazon Music in the USA. Both iOS and Android users are eligible for the beta access.

• The users who got access to Maestro must first have downloaded the latest version of the Amazon Music application. They will have a Maestro icon on their home screen or they can create a new playlist and talk (similar to creating a normal playlist).

WIZARDLM
🔮 WizardLM-2 Is Now Removed, But It Did Outperform GPT-4

WizardLM was an instruction-based model built on top of Meta’s LlaMA. The researchers used generated instruction data to fine-tune LLaMA. It was later removed but it seems to have finally caught up to OpenAI.

• Microsoft released WizardLM-2, an open-source model built by fine-tuning the Mixtral 8x22B on synthetic data.

• The model excels in complex tasks and provides top-tier reasoning skills.

• It was later deleted because they forgot to do toxicity testing.
