Vids is an AI-powered video creation app designed to help teams in customer service, learning and development, project ops, and marketing tell more engaging stories through video at work. First announced in April, it is now available for users of some versions of Google Workspace.

🕹️ AI-generated game Oasis now turns images into playable 3D worlds
AI companies Etched and Decart have built "Oasis," a fully AI-generated video game that runs in real-time. Oasis takes in user keyboard input and generates real-time gameplay, including physics, game rules, and graphics. The model and a demo are available for testing.

AI startup Decart has unveiled "Oasis," a video game created entirely in real-time by generative AI that allows players to explore a Minecraft-like world, interact with objects, and engage with the environment.
Oasis uses a specialized Transformer architecture that generates images at 20 frames per second with "zero latency" and responds instantly to player input.
While current limitations include blurry images and imprecise inventory management, Decart and development partner Etched plan to address these issues by using larger models and dedicated AI hardware.

✍️ Google adds AI-powered 'Help Me Write' to Gmail on the web
Announced at last year’s Google I/O conference, the Help Me Write feature allows users to formalize, elaborate, and shorten their emails. The feature is now being extended to Gmail on the web.

Google is expanding the Help Me Write shortcut to the web and introducing a Polish shortcut on the web and mobile app.
On the web, the Help Me Write shortcut will now appear in the body of the email when an email draft is empty. The Polish shortcut will appear for drafts with 12+ words, and pressing the shortcut text or typing Option+H will automatically show a polished email output.
Google’s “Help me write” feature is only available to users who subscribe to Google One AI Premium or have the Gemini add-on for Workspace.

🖥️ Amazon wants Anthropic to switch from Nvidia to Amazon chips
Amazon is negotiating a second billion-dollar investment in AI company Anthropic. This time, however, Amazon is setting conditions: Anthropic should increase its use of Amazon's AI chips instead of Nvidia's.

According to The Information, Amazon is in talks with OpenAI competitor Anthropic about a second major investment worth billions. The deal's structure would mirror the first $4 billion investment from last year.
There are technical hurdles to switching to Amazon chips: Trainium's software is less mature than Nvidia's CUDA platform.
The deal would also tie Anthropic more closely to the Amazon ecosystem, as the hardware is not available to other vendors.
