👩💻 GitHub adds Agent Mode to Automate Coding
GitHub has joined the agentic AI party with the launch of GitHub Copilot Agent Mode. Unlike previous versions, which relied on developers to steer interactions, Agent Mode can recognize the broader context of a request and infers additional necessary steps.
Insights for you:
GitHub has introduced a new "Agent Mode" for its Copilot, transforming it from an AI Assistant into a more autonomous development partner.
Agent Mode allows Copilot to autonomously complete tasks, fix its errors, and suggest terminal commands.
It is currently in preview for VS Code Insiders, developers must enable the Copilot Agent setting to access it.

📉 Cost to Use AI falls about 10x every 12 months: OpenAI CEO
In his blog, here’s an interesting observation OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared: “The cost to use a given level of AI falls about 10x every 12 months, and lower prices lead to much more use. You can see this in the token cost from GPT-4 in early 2023 to GPT-4o in mid-2024, where the price per token dropped about 150x in that period.”
Insights for you:
The cost of using any given level of AI falls by approximately ten-fold every year and could lead to a dramatic decrease in the price of goods, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
In his post, Altman also claimed that an AI model's intelligence is directly proportional to the resources put into its development.
Altman concluded that continuously driving down the cost of AI could help democratize access to its capabilities.

📐Google’s AlphaGeometry2 surpasses Math Olympians
The DeepMind team now says the performance of its upgraded system, AlphaGeometry2, has surpassed the level of the average gold medallist for geometry problems. In addition to geometry problems, it could be extended to other areas of math and science
Insights for you:
Google Deepmind's AlphaGeometry system can solve geometry problems better than most human experts.
Deepmind's latest geometry-solving AI called AlphaGeometry2, solves 84% of International Mathematical Olympiad problems from 2000 to 2024, matching the performance of top math competition winners.
The system combines a language model that suggests problem-solving steps and a symbolic engine called DDAR that checks these suggestions for logical consistency and usefulness, iterating through an efficient search process.
