Google has introduced Jules, an experimental AI-powered coding assistant designed to help developers efficiently fix buggy code. It uses Gemini 2.0 to address Python and Javascript coding issues. Jules enters the competitive AI coding assistant space, challenging Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot, tools like Cursor, and AI-powered solutions from Claude and ChatGPT.

⚡️ Elon Musk's Grok AI on X is now faster and cites legacy media

xAI has announced an upgrade to its Grok AI chatbot, with the new version promising improved performance that the company says will rival Sonnet 3.5 in prompt following capabilities. The upgraded model is free to all X platform users, with premium subscribers receiving higher usage limits and additional features.

  • xAI reports that Grok-2 is three times faster than its predecessor, offering improved accuracy and expanded language support.

  • Now Grok draws upon posts from X and webpages from the broader internet to provide timely and accurate answers to your queries.

  • They also added citations, so users can easily dive deeper into a source to learn more or verify the information provided by Grok.

📢 ChatGPT’s AI search engine is rolling out to all users

ChatGPT Search, OpenAI's AI-powered web search experience, is now live for all ChatGPT users and is part of its newest 12 days of ship-mas live stream, with several new features in tow. The new search feature allows users to access "fast, timely answers" with relevant web links, providing real-time information that was previously required by traditional search engines.

Insights for you:

  • One of the improvements for search on mobile makes ChatGPT look more like a traditional search engine, with result pages showing links, images, and locations as well.

  • ChatGPT’s search engine first rolled out to paid subscribers in October. It will now be available in the free tier, though you have to have an account and be logged in.

  • Additionally, ChatGPT can also automatically provide up-to-date information from the web when using Advanced Voice Mode, though that’s only available to paid users.
