Google can now transform search results and discovery feeds into customized, AI-generated podcasts. The experimental feature, called “Daily Listen”, creates a podcast with an overview of stories and topics and an interface with links to related articles. To access Daily Listen, users must enable it through Search Labs in the Google app.

Chinese startup MiniMax has released its MiniMax-01 family of open-source models that can handle contexts up to 4 million tokens - double the capacity of its closest competitor. To process such lengthy contexts efficiently, MiniMax combines the "Lightning Attention" mechanism with traditional Transformer blocks.

  • MiniMax has released the open-source MiniMax-01 model family, which includes the text-based MiniMax-Text-01 model and the multimodal MiniMax-VL-01 model.

  • In benchmarks, MiniMax-01 can keep up with top commercial models and achieves good results, especially for tasks with very long contexts.

🖥️ Nvidia Launches AI Foundation Models for RTX AI PCs

NVIDIA announced foundation models running locally on NVIDIA RTX AI PCs. They are designed to enhance the capabilities of RTX AI PCs by supporting applications in digital humans, content creation, and productivity. Foundation Models are pre-trained models capable of many kinds of AI operations with very little customization.

  • During CES 2025, NVIDIA unveiled that the foundational models will operate locally on its RTX AI PCs.
