🤝 AI Video Tool Runway Partners with Hollywood

In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Runway AI has partnered with Lionsgate, a major Hollywood Studio to “augment” their work. Lionsgate expects to save millions of dollars by integrating AI into future filmmaking. Runway will develop a new model, especially for Lionsgate’s content.

YouTube will soon allow video creators to generate clips using text prompts for YouTube shorts. This AI video generation will be powered by Google’s own Veo model. Such AI-generated videos can be helpful to fill the gaps in the video timeline. There is also a new “Inspiration” tab coming, that will provide content ideas to creators.

  • YouTube will start integrating the powerful Veo AI model, which was created by Google Deepmind researchers, in YouTube shorts.

  • Users will be able to create video backgrounds or even 6-second video clips using AI inside the YouTube app when making Shorts.

  • However, these Shorts with AI content will be watermarked and labelled as generated by AI for the viewers

👓️ Snap launches new AI-powered Glasses

After 3 years, we are getting a new generation of Snap’s Spectacles. Powered by Snap OS, they allow users to interact with My AI, and extend Snapchat experiences into 3D. Snap also launched AI-powered video and portrait generation tools.

  • Snap, the company behind Snapchat, launched its 5th generation AI glasses with new AI features.

  • The ‘Spectacles’ will have cameras and sensors with multi-modal AI for contextual understanding.

  • These glasses are available in the United States with a subscription of $99/m subscription, but only for developers.

⚡️ Microsoft unveiled the next wave of Copilot

Microsoft has released several Copilot upgrades in ‘Wave 2’. These include new AI features coming to Microsoft 365 apps like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OneDrive. Copilot responses are now twice as fast as before.

New Features:

  • Copilot Pages: a dynamic, persistent canvas designed for multiplayer AI collaboration.

  • Copilot agents: AI assistants to automate complex business tasks.

  • Agent Builder: A no-code tool for creating custom Copilot agents.

Groq
⚡️ World’s largest AI Data Center coming to Saudi Arabia

Groq is shaking hands with Oil Giant Aramco to make a Data Center in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2024. With a capacity of 200,000 LPUs, it will be the largest AI inferencing centre in the world. The reason to build a centre in Saudi Arabia is because of the low energy cost in the country and proximity to 4 billion people within a 100-millisecond data latency.

Insights for you:

  • California-based chipmaker Groq has partnered with Saudi’s oil company Aramco to build the world’s largest AI Center.

  • This centre will serve the countries in the Middle East, Africa and India.

  • The Data Center will include a potential of 200,000 LPUs.
