😨 LinkedIn using Your Data to Train AI models

If you have a LinkedIn, then this news is for you. According to 404Media, without any big notice, LinkedIn included in its privacy policy that it will now use users’ data to train its AI models. Users have to manually opt out by disallowing this from their Account settings.

Insights for you:

  • LinkedIn has quietly updated its policy pages to note that it might use your data to develop and train its AI models.

  • Users who want to opt out of this will have to revoke the permission by themselves.

  • Go to Setting & Privacy > Data Privacy > Data for Generative AI Improvement and switch the toggle to OFF.

🧠 Superintelligence is Coming Soon, says Sam Altman

In a new personal blog post, OpenAI CEO said this: “It is possible that we will have superintelligence in a few thousand days (!); it may take longer, but I’m confident we’ll get there.” He also predicted that we might have personal AI teams with virtual experts in different various fields.

  • Sam Altman shared his thoughts on when superintelligent AI will be finally available, in about a few years.

🤖 Apple reveals AI-powered iOS 18.1 in beta

If you are signed up for the Apple Beta Software Program, the iOS 18.1 update is ready. It will be available for all iPhone 16 models and some premium versions of iPhone 15. Now, you can test the features of Apple Intelligence, which the company has been talking about for a while.

🔈️ OpenAI's Advanced Voice Mode Rolling Out to the World

OpenAI has started rolling out its Advanced Voice Mode (AVM) to all ChatGPT Plus and Teams subscribers with new voices and more personalized interactions. They also improved their ability to understand various accents. Instead of the animated black dots as its design, now the Voice Mode looks like a blue animated sphere.

  • There are a total of 9 voices available but the controversial "Sky” voice is missing, which sounded similar to Scarlett Johansson.

🏭️ TSMC and Samsung want to build chip factories in the UAE

In an age where each tech company wants more chips, TSMC and Samsung have some new interesting plans. According to the Wall Street Journal, two big Chipmaker houses TSMC and Samsung are in talks to build semiconductors in the UAE. The main goal is to increase global chip production.

The U.S. wants to monitor the production and shipment of chips from the UAE factories because it is concerned about shipments of advanced AI chips to China, a trading partner of the UAE.

  • The project cost could be more than $100 billion to build several factories.

  1. Amelia: a generative AI assistant that can provide personalized recommendations and insights to sellers based on their business.

👨‍💻 Salesforce Provides Free AI Training

If you want to learn AI for free, Salesforce has good news for you. The company will offer its premium AI courses and AI certifications free of charge through its free online learning platform, Trailhead. They aim to reach an additional 100,000 learners with this move.
