🤥 ChatGPT Search Exposed: Vulnerable to Misinformation

An investigation by The Guardian found that the ChatGPT Search tool may be open to manipulation using hidden content, and can return malicious code from websites it searches. Such problems are a well-known risk for LLMs, but this appears to be the first time it’s demonstrated on a live AI-powered search product.

Insights for you:

  • OpenAI’s new ChatGPT search tool may be vulnerable to manipulation and false information.

  • ChatGPT can be influenced by hidden content on web pages, a tactic known as “prompt injection.” This hidden content can include instructions or large amounts of text designed to alter the AI’s response.

  • In one test, a fake product page for a camera was created. When hidden text instructed ChatGPT to give a favorable review, the AI consistently returned positive feedback, even when the page contained negative reviews.

⚡️ Genesis speeds up AI robot training by 430,000x faster than reality

Researchers have unveiled Genesis, a new open-source simulation platform that aims to accelerate how AI systems learn to control robots. Genesis arrives as robotics researchers hunt for better tools to test and train robots in virtual environments before deploying them in the real world.

Insights for you:

  • Researchers have introduced Genesis, a new physical simulation platform designed for robotics and embodied AI that can train robots up to 430,000 times faster than in the real world.

  • Genesis integrates various physical solvers into a unified framework and utilizes GPU-accelerated parallel computations.

  • A single hour of computing time is equivalent to ten years of training experience for a robot.
