📱 Apple’s Upcoming AI Features Delayed?

Bloomberg reports that ‘Apple Intelligence’ features will not be part of the initial releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. While iOS 18 will come out in September, the AI features will be delayed for a few weeks to October.

• Apple Intelligence features are now planned to be released by October this year.

• The company is expected to test Apple Intelligence this week by making it available to software developers.

🆓 You can now access Gemini 1.5 Flash in the Free version

If you are using the Gemini AI chatbot, this is big news for faster results. They upgraded the free version to the Gemini 1.5 Flash AI model. The earlier chatbot was Gemini 1.0 Pro.

• Google’s AI Chatbot will now be powered by Gemini 1.5 Flash.

• The new model is faster and more efficient compared to its predecessor.

• 1.5 Flash’s context window is also quadrupled from 8k to 32k tokens.

🛑 SAG-AFTRA went on a Video Game Strike over A.I.

Via LATimes, around 2,600 actors who do voice-over, motion capture and other work in the gaming industry will now not work for any video game companies until the strike is over. This strike was officially authorised in September last year.

• SAG-AFTRA Union members went on strike against all video game companies.

• Performers want a contract where they want video game companies to get their consent if the companies use AI to replicate their likeness or their voices.

• This will lead to longer production delays for games released in the next 2 to 3 years.

😲 AI Video Generator Company Accused of Copyright Violation

According to 404Media, Runway was reportedly trained on thousands of YouTube videos without permission, for their AI text-to-Video Generator. Their latest model is Gen-3 Alpha released in June this year.

• 404Media reportedly got a leaked spreadsheet highlighting training data for Runway’s AI video generator.

• This includes YouTube channels including Linus Tech Tips, MKBHD, Netflix, Disney, Nintendo, and Rockstar Games.

• The dataset also comprised some illegal movie/show piracy websites.

🤳 Meta AI’s ‘Imagine Me’ AI Lets You Create AI Selfies

Meta AI unveiled a new 'Imagine me' selfie feature, allowing users to create stylized AI-generated selfies based on prompts, alongside expanded language support and integration with Meta's Llama 3.1 405B model.
