Chinese AI startup DeepSeek‘s Android app has taken the No. 1 spot on the Google Play Store, mere days after the company’s chatbot app clinched the top spot on the Apple App Store. This is a big thing because DeepSeek has managed to push OpenAI’s ChatGPT to 2nd position.

Krea AI has rolled out a new feature that turns regular images into 3D objects that users can manipulate within AI-generated scenes in real-time. Users can resize these 3D objects and position them at any angle within their generated scenes.

• Krea AI has launched a new feature that converts 2D images into 3D objects, which can be incorporated into AI-generated scenes in real time, allowing users to adjust the size and placement of the objects freely within the images.

• To utilize the new functionality, users simply drag an image into Krea's real-time generation tool, select the "Convert to 3D" option, and can then manipulate the resulting 3D model within the scene, with previews rendered in real-time.

😯 Reasoning Models can help AI Image Generation also

A team of researchers from NYU, MIT, and Google has found a way to improve AI-generated images by borrowing ideas from recent AI reasoning models like OpenAI's o1. Their approach enhances image quality during the generation process itself, building on how diffusion models already improve images through denoising steps.

• Researchers have developed a method for optimizing AI-generated images as they are generated without having to retrain the model.

• They use verifiers and search algorithms to do this. The team has tested three search methods: Random Search generates multiple image versions and selects the best one, Zero-Order Search systematically optimizes in the neighborhood of a starting image, and Search over Paths improves the entire generation process.

• The tests showed that all three methods can significantly improve image quality. With about 50 additional computational steps per image, a good compromise between quality improvement and speed was achieved.
